About
Dr. Jameson Loyal is a board-certified dermatologist with advanced fellowship training in laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. A native New Yorker, Dr. Loyal received his Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics at New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, where he graduated Cum Laude and was awarded the Founders’ Day Award as well as named a Presidential Honors Scholar for his academic excellence. He completed his undergraduate degree in just three years.
Subsequently, Dr. Loyal attended the University of Vermont (UVM) College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. During medical school, he was granted the Vermont Medical Scholars Award for his academic merit as well as the UVM College of Medicine Research Fellowship Merit Award for his dedication to advancing medical research throughout his medical education.
Dr. Loyal stayed at UVM for his internal medicine internship prior to returning to New York City to complete his dermatology residency training at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn. During his final year of residency training, Dr. Loyal was named the Cosmetic Dermatology Chief Resident, where he organized all aspects of the cosmetic and procedural dermatology curriculum for the program.
Dr. Loyal went on to complete advanced fellowship training in laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery at the world-renowned Cosmetic Laser Dermatology under the tutelage of Drs. Mitchel Goldman, Kimberly Butterwick, William Groff, Sabrina Fabi, and Douglas Wu. Dr. Loyal is excited to be staying at Cosmetic Laser Dermatology and working alongside his distinguished colleagues in providing the most advanced, high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered cosmetic dermatologic care.
Dr. Loyal is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He is also an active member in a variety of medical professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Loyal is an expert in all aspects of laser and cosmetic dermatologic surgery.
He has extensive expertise in advanced injection techniques utilizing the full breadth of dermal fillers and neuromodulators as well as thread lifting to volumize, lift, and contour the face. Dr. Loyal’s approach to facial sculpting is to enhance and accentuate a patient’s signature features with a keen eye for maintaining facial harmony and balance to achieve a natural, bespoke result for each patient. Dr. Loyal’s multimodal approach to rejuvenation incorporates his knowledge and expertise in non-invasive skin tightening procedures using both ultrasound and radiofrequency to stimulate new collagen formation to firm the skin and enhance its tone.
Dr. Loyal has advanced training in laser, light- and energy-based devices ranging from fully ablative laser resurfacing utilizing carbon dioxide and erbium devices to the full array of fractional and non-fractional ablative and non-ablative laser technologies, picosecond lasers, intense pulse light, photodynamic therapy, and microneedling with radiofrequency. Dr. Loyal has a particular interest in laser resurfacing, where he customizes a treatment protocol consisting of a variety of specifically selected laser and energy-based devices in one treatment session to optimally rejuvenate and maximize a patient’s specific aesthetic goals.
Regarding treatments for the body, Dr. Loyal is an expert in non-invasive body contouring modalities and the reduction of cellulite as well as tumescent liposuction. Dr. Loyal also treats unwanted veins using sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation, and ambulatory phlebectomy.
Research and innovation have been a mainstay throughout Dr. Loyal’s career as he has a keen interest in contributing to dermatology as a specialty and helping to advance patient care. Dr. Loyal has been an investigator for more than 40 clinical trials working with major pharmaceutical, device, and cosmetic companies such as Allergan Aesthetics, AbbVie, Galderma, Merz, Teoxane, Ulthera, Endo Pharmaceuticals, CROMA-PHARMA, Lumenis, SofWave Medical, Accure Acne, Bausch, Pfizer, Biofrontera Bioscience, DermTech, DefenAge, Alastin Skincare, and Estée Lauder, among others. Many of these studies have been conducted with the goal of obtaining FDA approval or clearance. Dr. Loyal also serves as an expert consultant to pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Dr. Loyal publishes extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks.
He enjoys presenting his research to his dermatology colleagues at medical conferences both nationally and internationally. Additionally, he is a frequently invited speaker at residency training programs throughout the country to help educate dermatology residents in advanced cosmetic dermatologic surgery procedures and techniques.
Dr. Loyal’s diverse experience allows him to combine a variety of treatment modalities to help his patients achieve their aesthetic goals. Dr. Loyal works collaboratively with his patients to aid them in their self-discovery of their definition of beauty and self-identity. His patient-centered approach focuses on attending to his patients’ physical and emotional well-being in an empathetic manner with the goal of developing their confidence in living fulfilling lives.
