Mitchel P. Goldman, MD, was the featured speaker at the 43rd annual Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Scientific Surgery Symposium held this year in Chicago.
The 4-day event, titled “Perspective, Passion, & Progress,” brought together the top minds in the fields of facial plastic surgery and ophthalmology.
Dr. Goldman, a leading dermatologic and cosmetic surgeon, brought his unique perspective to this group of specialists.
“The symposium was a truly remarkable experience. When physicians from different backgrounds get together, they learn new techniques and approaches to common problems. The combination of different outlooks and techniques by different specialties truly advances patient care,” said Dr. Goldman.
The annual symposium was attended by over 500 oculoplastic surgeons At the event, new surgical devices and equipment were presented. The four-day conference included four breakout sessions, which provided doctors with the chance to attend smaller and more personal assemblies catered to their interests.
The general sessions attended by all the participants featured case reports and short lectures on new advances in treating a wide variety of ocular conditions.
As the pioneer of sclerotherapy treatment and Laser Surgery, Dr. Goldman gave two lectures over the course of the conference focusing on rejuvenating an aging face with volume augmentation and lasers as well as the treatment of periorbital veins and facial vascular lesions.
“Though this was a conference aimed for those in the field of ophthalmology, it’s fantastic that the topics covered by myself and the other featured speakers delved into related surgeries and cosmetic processes,” said Dr. Goldman.
